Conservatives in Norwich have expressed support for the economic measures being taken by the Conservative-led government, on the day that the national debt topped one trillion pounds. Residents can check on the debt here to see how much it is rising by.
Speaking on behalf of the Norwich South Conservative Association, Antony Little said:
"As has been pointed out this debt is real, is ours and it needs to be paid back. This debt is the legacy of 13 years of Labour government, who took the golden economic legacy from Ken Clarke and bought this country to the brink of economic collapse. Nobody comes into politics to reduce resources but these debt figures are a stark warning of why we need to take action now."
