Giles is the Conservative Party's Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk. Giles has a background in the military, and has a track record of working hard and advocating for service improvement. Here's his personal bio:
'I am standing to the be the Police & Crime Commissioner for Norfolk because I believe that I have the experience and skill sets to enable me to make a sound contribution to keeping Norfolk safe.
I was a soldier for thirty four years (1978-2012); serving with the Parachute Regiment all over the world and in particular on operations in Northern Ireland, the Falklands, Gulf War 1, the Balkans, Sierra Leone and Iraq.
Since leaving the Army I have worked in interim management in the charity sector, reviewing charitable purposes, organisational structures and funding in order to identify affordable and
sustainable future business models. I am also a member of the Ministry of Justice’s War Pensions & Armed Forces Compensation Tribunal.
I have been married for over thirty years and my wife and I have two grown-up children. We live near Fakenham and enjoy keeping a few sheep, some hens and lots of bees as well as growing our own vegetables.'
